About Atlanta Rollergirls
In 2004, a new generation of women dusted off their skates & reclaimed an old sport, Roller Derby. Gone are the theatrics and staged fighting & hair-pulling has bitten the dust. In Atlanta and across the nation, powerful, female athletes are reviving this hard-hitting, aggressive sport and updating it with an edgier attitude. The Atlanta Rollergirls, Dirty South Derby LLC, are proud participants of this new flat-track revolution. We strive for a crowd-pleasing mix of sport and spectacle, but our bouts are not staged, the outcomes aren’t fixed, the impacts are bona fide and our spills are the real deal.
As founding members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the Atlanta Rollergirls are helping to write the book on independent sports in the U.S. We are skater-owned and operated, so there are no five-figure deals for us, no shoe contracts & no steroid abuse trials – we promise! The love of the sport is what drives us, and we are working very hard to give our fans more of what they want; intense competition.

During the day, we are Atlanta’s moms, students, lawyers, and writers & at night we are our own accountants, promoters, and marketers. True D.I.Y’ers, the Atlanta Rollergirls are “roll models” to young women and girls by demonstrating how successful women can be as both athletes and businesswomen.
