Bout One – The Dirty South Derby Girl Atlanta All-Stars, 182 vs The Providence, RI All-Stars, 116
It was an intense night full of hard-hitting action here in the ATL. First on the track, Atlanta’s All-Star Dirty South Derby Girls (DSDG) took on the Rhode Island Riveters from Providence at 5pm. The Riveters took control in the beginning with their fierce teamwork and mad jamming skills from Bleeding Rainbow and Craisy Dukes. Atlanta however, would not go down easily–especially in their own house. Building on the scoring momentum of jammers Demi Gore, Wheelin Jennings, and The Merchant of Menace, DSDG locked in defensively with the powerhouse combo of Alassin Sane and newly-returned Queen Loseyateefa in the front and Rebel Yellow and Switchblade Siouxsie in the back. The riveting ladies from Providence put up quite the fight in one of DSDG’s most physical games to date, but Atlanta ultimately held it down on their home turf, winning with a score of 182 – 116. MVPs were The Merchant of Menace for Atlanta and Bleeding Rainbow for Providence.

Bout Two – The Apocalypstix, 108 vs The Denim Demons, 105
At 7:30pm, the undefeated Denim Demons took to the track against the vengeful Apocalypstix. The Demons were confident of holding on to their status, yet the Stix took control of the game immediately. But after several unanswered scoring runs by the Stix including a 20-point first jam by Nora Gretz, the Demons finally found their footing and got back in the game with a 15-point jam from rookie Hate Ashbury to rally on the heels of the Stix until halftime. During the second half, the crowd went crazy as the Stix and Demons fought tooth and nail, staying tied jam after jam. The game literally came down to the wire. Amazing defense by the Demons pulled them into the lead with only minutes to spare; however, a power jam on the side of the Stix earned them the few extra points needed to knock out the Demon lead. The Stix broke the Demons winning streak with an amazing 108 – 105 final score. MVPs were Bullie Jean King for the Apocalypstix and Hate Ashbury for the Denim Demons.
