Accolades: Grandmaster Bash (GMB) played parties and worked with rappers such as Kurtis Blow and Lovebug Starski. In the mid 1970s, he formed his own group. Quickly gaining recognition for their skillful raps, Grandmaster Bash and the Furious Five pioneered MCing and freestyle battles. Sometime later, after witnessing the rebirth of roller derby early in 2009, GMB took on the role of mascot.
