What are we thankful for this Thanksgiving? The fact that the fun hasn’t stopped just because it’s the off-season! We have two events just in the next week for you to check out, and they’re pretty amazing. Read on and join us!
Need to trim off some of that stuffing you put on over Thanksgiving? Or maybe you just need release that tension you have after listening to Cousin Eddy tell his turkey joke for the umpteenth time. Look no further! The Atlanta Rollergirls will be hosting Smashgiving, a co-ed Scrimmage-A-Thon for all levels, this Saturday, November 29th.
Atlanta Rollergirls Headquarters, 1721 Wilwat Drive, Norcross GA, will be open to skaters 18+ for an afternoon of Thanksgiving scrimmage awesomeness. You spent time with your blood relatives, now spend a little time knocking around your derby family. Purchase your ticket here:https://squareup.com/
They’ll be gone faster than your Nana’s famous sweet potato soufflé!
Skaters: You’ll need to bring all your gear and black and white shirts with your number on the back. Fill out this form once you’ve purchased your ticket: skaters need to fill out: https://docs.google.com/
Spectators: Spots will be limited, and most seating will be floor unless you BYO chair.
Volunteers: Want to help NSO or ref?
**Any refs who’d also like to scrimmage can do so for free in return for working!
After you’ve taken a few days to recover from Smashgiving, join us at Sweetwater Brewing Company on Wednesday, December 3rd from 5:30-7:30pm for perhaps the easiest way you’ve ever supported a non-profit–by enjoying some tasty beers. That’s right! All you have to do is bring as many friends as you can, buy a $10 tasting glass, and enjoy the tour.
- Souvenir pint glasses with 6 tasting tickets are $10
- Beer tasting is available the entire 2 hour window
- Brews vary by season–not everything is available every day
- Tours last 20 minutes and run 3-5 times during tasting hours
- If you aren’t 21, you aren’t getting in.
If you need more information, check out Sweetwater’s Brewery Tour page here. Make sure you get there early and have a plan to get home safely after tasting all the deliciousness. We can’t wait to see you there. And Happy Thanksgiving from the ARG family to yours!
